A Christian cynic's thoughts on the Hannah Montana scandle

The following will not be what you expect. Most who call themselves Christians would judge and say humilating things about Miley Cyrus without asking (or listening) to what God thinks about it. A moraless pre-Britney.

Funny though. I agree, this is how most who call themselves a Christian would act. It is ironic that these are the same people who have bumper stickers on their car that read, "What would Jesus do"? These same people will pass and cast thirty different types of worm wood and knashing teeth towards Miss Cyrus for those leaked photos of her and her friend. What would Jesus do? I'm not sure but I can tell you what he did.Jesus came to the rescue and gave refuge the a woman considered the lowest sort in society.
At the Temple, Jesus said to a very holy man to be more like the self acknowledged sinner. Lastly, while on the cross Jesus asked a sinner to his right to join him in paradise and asked that God forgive all for they knew not what they did.

So what would Jesus do in light of this "Hannah Montana Scandle?" Not to hint that Miley is either easy, a theif, or a tax collecter. But you get the point. He is merciful. He is compassionate. He taught and lived on compassion and mercy. He said in every way possible, over and over again, that His followers MUST be kind, loving, gentle, forgiving, and merciful. In fact He wanted us to include this in our prayer. "Forgive those who sinned against you (or anyone)." Yet He also drove it home by saying, Hey, now. While you are doing all well and good with forgiving people, how about asking for YOUR forgiviness as well?

The explosive response of judgment pours onto the Cyrus family not only from all parts of a secular society you would expect but also from the most holy of holy chruches were a God like Jesus is pretty much their thing. How can you worship something, pray to something, love something, yet totally ignore all that He did in his life or how He died? I imagine there are over a billion people in the world who worship and love Jesus Christ as our God and Creator as I do. However, I wouldn't be far off to imagine that a fraction of them are true Christians. A true Christian being one who not only studies the word but lives by it (the best he or she can because the only perfect Christian is a non-Christian).

Yes, I know I should eat my own words. Am I judging all those in the media and in our country who have judged Miss Cyrus? Dang, well, yeah. Forgive me, really. I know that it isn't my place to defend Miss Cyrus, for God has her well looked after. And so does her Dad. But it causes me sorrow to see how fallen our society is. And nothing hurts worse than seeing churches that I have prayed at, judging others. Lord forgive them, they know not what they do. But the sorriest thing about it is the fact that these Christians actually believe they are acting as good soldiers of Christ by speaking against Miley and her family! It is not their mistakes that I express these feelings about but rather their unchecked hypocrisy.

Every single day I make so many mistakes in my life. Sometimes I hurt my family, my friends, and God Himself. Yes, I know that the only way I will will miss out on a chance in Heaven someday is if I do not totally surrender ALL my sins to Him. I have to admit where I was wrong even if I believed I was doing the right thing.

Hypocrisy...lets chew on that for a second.

America lives in this dream world that those who you would judge first are those people, those sick os. Inappopriate desires and thoughts are more common than any of us want to imagine. Though thankfully the high majority of them will not act on their thoughts or fantacies. Yet, still, there are many out there who are as black as the kettle. Although I couldn't stomach to give a full hearted study on these following facts here is what I did gather. Type on search engine, Lo ita and you will get 42,050,000 different sites. Type in Forgive and you get THREE MILLION less entries. Something tells me that all those sites don't have to do with cliff notes!

Since this Scandle there are more than two million sites featuring the "photos in question." Those who slander them can't take their eyes off em. And You tube? (nuff said!)

A couple of years ago Congressman Folly, the crusaider to end all child endangerment and exploitation had to resign from his post in congress for being as dakr as the kettle. It is interesting to note that the awareness and enforsement of child protection laws that he stood behind were proved wonderfully effective the day he got caught.

Do I have a solution about what to do about all the who are weird like that? Sadly, no. If I wasn't such a sap for freedom of speech and forgiviness then maybe. But I do have a message for the hypocrites-peace, relax, forgive, forget, have mercy, love, be gentle, DO WHAT JESUS SAID, ah' ight!

Miley Cyrus' pics were no more lez or racy than any of the hundreds of thousands of the same you might find on photo bucket or youtube. GOD FORBID her and her friend might have a serious silly side. (God forbid any of us might). Should they of been playing hop scotch in those photos? How about dressing up as Hannah Montana singing Hannah Montana songs? Yeah....

God bless you all. I know that I am a true cynic about our country these days. Yes, sometimes I am tempted to scream out, "Where is the life, where is the liberty, where is the love"? If I did, I would just be another weird guy in this weird world.

Hypocrisy is only one of the countless challenges WE face, you and me, not to mention the country. When this so called scandle passes and the comments of this post remain at zero, my mind will travel as it always has. Tomorrow I'll wake up and ask, "when will liberals stop advocating the 'right' to kill babies. When will conservatives stop guilting teen mothers into considering an abortion"? Tomorrow I'll ask the same question I did today, "What would Jesus do"? 'Tis time for us ALL to ask, "What should we do"?
